Regular Season Round 7: Perlas-MRU - Dzukija 86-75

An interesting game took place in Vilnius, where higher ranked Dzukija (4-3) lost to twelfth ranked Perlas-MRU (3-4) in a road game 75-86 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dzukija. The game was mostly controlled by Perlas-MRU. Dzukija was better in second period 23-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dzukija to just 4 points in first quarter. Perlas-MRU made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Forward Antanas Udras (202-92) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Mantas Virbalas (203-88) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Guard Giedrius Kurtinaitis (193-86) produced 24 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and guard Mindaugas Reminas (190-86) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Perlas-MRU moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Triobet and Ezerunas-Karys. Newly promoted Dzukija dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Perlas-MRU will face higher ranked Zanavykas (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play against Silute.
