Regular Season Round 5: Neuss - Hagen Phoenix 79-52
Date: October 27, 2012
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked TG Neuss and 6th ranked Hagen Phoenix had identical 2-2 record. This time TG Neuss used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Hagen 79-52 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by TG Neuss. Hagen Phoenix was better in fourth quarter 20-8. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Shacondra James (172, college: Cent.Florida) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Lisa Krings (174) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Guard Kimberly Pohlmann (180-92) answered with 11 points and 6 rebounds and swingman Elina Stahmeyer (180-91) added 7 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Hagen Phoenix. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TG Neuss (3-2) moved-up to fourth place in North. Loser Hagen Phoenix dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. TG Neuss will face Rhein MB II (#12) in Langen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hagen Phoenix will play at home against the league's second-placed ChemCats Chemnitz (#2).
