Very expected game in Figueira da Foz where bottom-ranked Ginasio (0-2) was defeated by leader Maia Basket (3-0) 74-65. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-17. But Ginasio won second period 16-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ginasio 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for the former international forward Nuno Marcal (205-75) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Pedro Tavares (182-83) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Tiago Barreiro (187-83) answered with 20 points and 5 assists and swingman Pedro Rocha (190-87) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ginasio. Maia Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. Maia Basket keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Oliveirense. Ginasio at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Benfica B. Maia Basket will play against Benfica B (#9) in Lisboa in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
