Regular Season Round 2: U20 - Spartak Pleven 61-71

Date: October 27, 2012
Everything could happen in Sofia at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Spartak Pleven and bottom-ranked U20 had identical 0-1 record. But U20 was not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Pleven 71-61 on Saturday night. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Spartak Pleven forced 24 U20 turnovers. Center Denis Agre (203-88, college: Pepperdine) had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Ilia Stankov (198-76) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Forward Aleks Simeonov (200-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and center Velislav Galabov (205-94) scored 8 points and 11 rebounds. U20's coach Lyubomir Minchev tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Spartak Pleven (1-1) left bottom position moving up to fourth place, which they share with Tundja Yambol and Chernomorets. Newly promoted U20 still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Rilski Sportist. Spartak Pleven will meet at home Rilski Sportist (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. U20 will play against Chernomorets in Burgas.
