Very expected game in Quakenbrueck where 10th ranked s Oliver Baskets (2-4) were defeated by sixth ranked Artland Dragons (4-2) 64-59. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The game without a history. Artland Dragons led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international guard Johannes Strasser (190-82, agency: Court Side) notched 18 points to lead the effort and Serbian center Petar Popovic (211-79) supported him with 16 points. Even a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds by American forward Dwayne Anderson (198-86, college: Villanova) did not help to save the game for s Oliver Baskets. His fellow American import power forward Jason Boone (198-85, college: New York U.) added 12 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four s Oliver Baskets players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bayreuth and B.Muenchen. s Oliver Baskets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Artland Dragons' next round opponent will be league's second-placed ratiopharm Ulm at home and it may be quite challenging game. s Oliver Baskets will play against Bayern Muenchen (#5).
