Regular Season Round 6: Crailsheim - NBC 74-79

Very expected game when 11th ranked Crailsheim Merlins (2-4) were defeated at home by fifth ranked NBC (4-2) 79-74 on Saturday. Crailsheim Merlins trailed by 16 points at halftime and as many as 23 after three quarters before a 28-10 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 74-79 at the end of the game. NBC had a 34-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard Tyrone Brazelton (185-86, college: W.Kentucky) scored 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Will Chavis (181-81, college: Texas Tech) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was swingman Benjamin Lischka (200-89) with 16 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized American swingman Jonathan Moore (203-82, college: N.C.Central) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. NBC moved-up to third place, which they share with Cuxhaven and Goettingen. Loser Crailsheim Merlins dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. NBC will face bottom-ranked USC Leipzig (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Crailsheim Merlins will play against BV Chemnitz 99 (#8).
