Regular Season Round 2: Varda HE - Leotar 78-70

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Leotar (1-1) against twelfth ranked Varda HE (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting Leotar was defeated by Varda HE in a tough game in Varda 70-78. Leotar trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 19-13 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 70-78 at the end of the game. Varda HE looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was naturalized Serbian guard Marko Josilo (201-92) who scored 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian Djordje Tresac (193-87) chipped in 15 points and 4 assists. Varda HE's coach Dragoljub Vidacic used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. N Knezevic produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and Montenegrin point guard Zoran Kascelan (188-86) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Five Varda HE and four Leotar players scored in double figures. Varda HE left bottom position moving up to second place, which they share with 9 other teams including defeated Leotar. Varda HE will face Vogosca (#10) in Sarajevo in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Leotar will play at home against Mladost (#8) in Mrkonjic Grad.
