An interesting game took place in Kirchheim where higher ranked Kirchheim Knights (3-3) were upseton its own court by fourteenth ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (2-4) 92-85 on Saturday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Kirchheim Knights were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Torvoris Baker (203-83, college: Detroit Mercy) scored 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Ahmad Smith (194-84, college: St.Bonaventure) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Cedric Brooks (185-80, college: Pittsburg St.) with 16 points and 9 assists and naturalized Serbian guard Radivoj Tomasevic (180-78) scored 19 points. Five Kirchheim Knights players scored in double figures. Oettinger Rockets Gotha moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with ETB Wohnbau and Crailsheim. Loser Kirchheim Knights dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Oettinger Rockets Gotha will face higher ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (#6) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
