There was no surprise when 7th ranked Horsholm (2-6) was defeated on the road by leader Svendborg (8-0) 90-72 on Saturday. The game without a history. Svendborg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. Svendborg looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 16 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Bojan Marinkovic (209-84) with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Hungarian forward Attila Kovacs (203-85) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Svendborg and five Horsholm players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Svendborg. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bakken. Loser Horsholm dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Svendborg will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Horsholm will play against Randers (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
