A very close game took place in Coimbra between Vitoria SC and Sampaense. Vitoria SC (2-0) got a very close victory on the road over bottom-ranked Sampaense (0-1). Vitoria SC managed to escape with a 1-point win 76-75 on Saturday evening. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 1 point. The former international forward Paulo Cunha (200-80) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and American center Dain Swetalla (206-86, college: Augustana, IL) supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
