There was no surprise when bottom-ranked KuSG Leimen (0-5) was outleveled at home by third ranked BasCats Heidelberg (4-1) 111-51 on Saturday. The game without a history. BasCats Heidelberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KuSG Leimen to just 3 points in fourth quarter. BasCats Heidelberg dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to KuSG Leimen's 30 and made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They outrebounded KuSG Leimen 38-26 including a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. BasCats Heidelberg shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 68.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by KuSG Leimen's players. American guard Jillian Young (172, college: S.Dakota St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 29 points. Her fellow American import center Erica Carlson (193-88, college: Dixie St.) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Jennifer Shinall (160) answered with 15 points and Canadian guard Lauren Taal (175) added 12 points in the effort for KuSG Leimen. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BasCats Heidelberg maintains third place in South with 4-1 record behind leader Saarlouis. KuSG Leimen lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost.
