Regular Season Round 6: LTi 46ers - Brose Bask. 65-87
Date: October 28, 2012
There was no surprise in Giessen where 17th ranked LTi 46ers (1-5) were crushed by sixth ranked Brose Baskets (4-1) 87-65. LTi 46ers were ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 43-19 second half run of Brose Baskets. They dominated on the defensive end, holding LTi 46ers to just 5 points in fourth quarter. They made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Slovenian forward Bostjan Nachbar (207-80) notched 23 points to lead the effort and the former international center Maik Zirbes (208-90) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by Bosnian power forward Elvir Ovcina (212-76, college: Syracuse, agency: Interperformances) did not help to save the game for LTi 46ers. American guard Ryan Brooks (193-88, college: Temple, agency: Pro One Sports) added 14 points and 6 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with TBB Trier. LTi 46ers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with five games lost. Brose Baskets' next round opponent will be Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#14) in Frankfurt which should be another easy win for them. LTi 46ers will play on the road against BBC Bayreuth.
