Very important is a home loss of second ranked BBC Bayreuth (4-2) against seventh ranked Bayern Muenchen (4-2) on Sunday night. Host BBC Bayreuth was crushed by Bayern Muenchen in Bayreuth 73-54. The game without a history. Bayern Muenchen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a good game for American-Bulgarian center Jared Homan (206-83, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with 10 points and 6 rebounds. American power forward Lawrence Roberts (206-82, college: Mississippi St.) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Bayern Muenchen players scored in double figures. Italian-American forward Joe Trapani (203-88, college: Boston Coll.) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American-Jamaican point guard Bryan Bailey (185-80, college: Bucknell) added 8 points in the effort for BBC Bayreuth. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bayern Muenchen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Bayreuth and Art.Dragons. Bayern Muenchen will play against s Oliver Baskets (#12) in Wuerzburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BBC Bayreuth will play at home against LTi 46ers (#17) in Giessen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
