Undefeated Antakya (1-1) recorded its first loss in Hatay. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Istanbul Universitesi (1-1) 74-64. The game was mostly controlled by Istanbul Universitesi. Antakya was better in third quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American guard Essence Carson (183-86, college: Rutgers) notched 27 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Russian center Irina Osipova (196-81) supported her with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Four Istanbul Universitesi players scored in double figures. Even 21 points by American Jolene Anderson (175-86, college: Wisconsin) did not help to save the game for Antakya. Czech Jana Vesela (194-83) added 9 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Istanbul Universitesi left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Antakya. Istanbul Universitesi will play against Edremit (#13) in Balikesir in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Antakya will play at home against the league's second-placed Fenerbahce (#2) in Istanbul to get more than just one victory in their record.
