Very expected game when 10th ranked Academico FC (1-5) lost to top-ranked AD Vagos (3-0) in Porto 56-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by AD Vagos. Academico FC was better in fourth quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American center Ebony Ellis (190-88, college: N.Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds. International Joana Lopes (185-86) contributed with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Joana Ferreira replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Isabel Leite (-84) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Academico FC. Academico FC's coach Mario Barros rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AD Vagos have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory AD Vagos went down to third position due to points difference. Academico FC lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with five games lost. AD Vagos will face league's leader Lombos Quinta in Carcavelos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Academico FC will play on the road against CAB Madeira (#5) in Funchal.
