Regular Season Round 4: Akhisar Bld - Pi Koleji 89-81

Date: October 30, 2012
We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 9th ranked Pi Koleji (2-2) lost on the road to tenth ranked Akhisar Bld (2-2) 89-81 on Tuesday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Pi Koleji won third quarter 25-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a very good performance for American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) contributed with 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Croatian power forward Nenad Delic (210-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Ufuk Yanar (197-81) added 20 points in the effort for Pi Koleji. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Pi Koleji's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Akhisar Bld moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Pi Koleji. Akhisar Bld will face higher ranked Balikesir (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
