Regular Season Round 4: Bandirma Kir. - Vestel 86-74

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked Bandirma Kir. (2-2) won against higher ranked Vestel (3-1) in Balikesir 86-74 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Bandirma Kir.. Vestel was better in fourth quarter 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vestel was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for American forward Gilbert Brown (198-87, college: Pittsburgh) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 6 rebounds. International point guard Safak Edge (188-92) contributed with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. American forward Justin Knox (205-89, college: N.Carolina) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Antabia Waller (188-88, college: Auburn) added 14 points in the effort for Vestel. Four Vestel players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Bandirma Kir. moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 7 other teams. Loser Vestel dropped to the third position with one game lost. Bandirma Kir. will face Final Genclik (#14) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vestel will play at home against Trabzonspor (#15).
