Regular Season Round 11: Svendborg - Bakken 114-100

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Svendborg as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Svendborg defeated second-ranked Bakken at home 114-100. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Svendborg. Bakken managed to win third quarter 26-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Svendborg looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American power forward Donald Rutherford (199-87, college: Catawba) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Adama Darboe (190-86) helped adding 27 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American point guard Chad Tomko (180-89, college: NC-Wilmington) responded with 28 points and 4 assists and Jamaican forward Orane Chin (200-88, college: CS Fullerton) scored 23 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Svendborg (9-0) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending champion Bakken keeps the second place with one game lost. Bakken will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Svendborg will try to continue on its current victory against ninth ranked Vaerlose on the road.
