Regular Season Round 17: BC Kyiv - BC Donetsk 79-71

Bottom-ranked BC Kyiv managed to get a second victory, breaking the series of two consecutive loses on Friday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked BC Donetsk 79-71. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Donetsk won third quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when BC Kyiv won last quarter 20-13. They made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Four BC Kyiv players scored in double figures. International point guard Denys Lukashov (190-89) produced 17 points and Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. BC Kyiv maintains fourteenth place with 2-9 record. Defending champion BC Donetsk keeps the sixth position with five games lost. BC Kyiv will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BC Donetsk will play against Cherkasy (#10) and hope to secure a win.
