Division A top team - Gaz Metan (6-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat fifth ranked U-Mobitelco (4-2) in Medias 92-80. The hosts were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Gaz Metan made 30-of-39 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game, while U-Mobitelco only scored five points from the stripe. Gaz Metan forced 23 U-Mobitelco turnovers. U-Mobitelco was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin-Serbian forward Ivan Ivanovic (205-80, agency: Beo Basket) notched 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Serbian guard Slobodan Dundjerski (188-88, agency: Alti Sport) supported him with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. They share the position with Timisoara and CSM Bucuresti. Gaz Metan will play against Oradea (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. U-Mobitelco will play against Timba Timosoara in Timisoara and hopes to get back on the winning track.
