Very important is a road loss of third ranked Quakenbrueck Dragons (4-2) against ninth ranked Dolphins Bielefeld (3-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Quakenbrueck Dragons were defeated by Dolphins Bielefeld in a tough game in Bielefeld 61-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quakenbrueck Dragons. Quakenbrueck Dragons were tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. The best player for the winners was American forward Michaela Hawley (185, college: Florida Southern) who scored 28 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Natascha Bunts (170) chipped in 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Brittany Moore (168-89) who recorded 21 points and Canadian center Hannah Sunley-Paisley (186) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Quakenbrueck Dragons' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Dolphins Bielefeld moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Mainz and Opladen. Loser Quakenbrueck Dragons keep the third position with two games lost. They share it with Neuss. Dolphins Bielefeld will meet ASC Theresianum Mainz (#7) on the road in the next round. Quakenbrueck Dragons will play against Hagen Phoenix (#11) and hope to secure a win.
