Regular Season Round 8: Timisoara - Targu Mures 69-66

Twelfth-ranked Targu Mures (2-5) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Timisoara (6-1) on Saturday. Timisoara managed to secure only three-point victory 69-66. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Targu Mures. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-66. Timisoara forced 25 Targu Mures turnovers. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Biljana Pesovic (180-83) who scored 24 points. American guard Tiffany Brown (165-86, college: Georgia South) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. American guard Tarkeisha Wysinger-Mackey (177-89, college: Louisiana Tech) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Danielle Walker (178-86, college: Clark Atlanta) added 18 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Timisoara maintains fourth position with 6-1 record. Loser Targu Mures dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with Rapid. Timisoara will meet at home Alba Iulia (#6) in the next round. Targu Mures will play against Olimpia in Bucuresti and hope to secure a win.
