The game between second ranked EWE Baskets (5-2) and eleventh ranked Telekom Baskets (3-3) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. EWE Baskets were crushed by Telekom Baskets in Bonn 57-90. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of EWE Baskets. The game without a history. Telekom Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to EWE Baskets' 34. Worth to mention a great performance of international center Jonas Wohlfarth-Bottermann (208-90, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots). American-Jamaican forward Patrick Ewing Jr. (203-84, college: Georgetown) contributed with 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Ronnie Burrell (204-83, college: NC-Greensboro, agency: Pro One Sports) answered with 12 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Adam Chubb (208-81, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) added 8 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for EWE Baskets. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets moved-up to ninth place. EWE Baskets at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Bayreuth. Telekom Baskets are looking forward to face league's leader ratiopharm Ulm on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. EWE Baskets will play against BBC Bayreuth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
