Regular Season Round 6: Rist Wedel - Wulfen 99-76

ProB top team - SC Rist Wedel (6-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked BSV Wulfen (2-4) 99-76. The game was mostly controlled by SC Rist Wedel. BSV Wulfen managed to win fourth quarter 19-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. SC Rist Wedel made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. SC Rist Wedel outrebounded BSV Wulfen 39-20 including a 29-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Davey Hopkins (195-88, college: Biola, CA) who scored 25 points and 6 assists. The other American import point guard Augie Johnston (185-86, college: CS Monterey) chipped in 28 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). SC Rist Wedel's coach Sebastian Gleim felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Anthony Young (200-89, college: Ky Wesleyan) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Hendrik Bellscheidt (193-90) added 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SC Rist Wedel have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group North with 6-0 record. Loser BSV Wulfen dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. SC Rist Wedel will meet Spot Up Medien Baskets (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
