Regular Season Round 5: Jaunieji Talentai - Aistes-LSU 54-50

Another exciting game for Jaunieji Talentai (1-4) which hosted in Vilnius against 4th placed Aistes-LSU (2-3). Eighth ranked Jaunieji Talentai won 54-50. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aistes-LSU won third quarter 13-4. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Jaunieji Talentai won last quarter 18-15. They also forced 26 Aistes-LSU turnovers. Laura Juskaite (187-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and center Daugile Sarauskaite (196-96) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Jaunieji Talentai's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds and forward Jolanta Marmiene (181-79) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Jaunieji Talentai left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Utena. It was Aistes-LSU's third loss in a row. They keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Fortuna and Ruta Siauliai. Jaunieji Talentai will play against higher ranked Fortuna (#4) in Klaipeda in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Aistes-LSU will play at home against the league's leader Kibirkstis-Tiche and will have a slim chance for a victory.
