Regular Season Round 6: Hanau - Weissenhorn 85-80

Date: November 3, 2012
The game between Top Four teams took place in Hanau. Second ranked host Hanau (5-1) defeated one of their biggest challengers Weissenhorn Youngstars (4-2) 85-80. It looked good early as Weissenhorn Youngstars took an 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hanau took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. Indian-American point guard Anish Sharda (188-82, college: St.Mary's, KS) notched 20 points and 8 assists to lead the effort and center Marian Schick (204-86) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by naturalized Ukrainian center Maksym Shtein (206-80, agency: Limelight Hoops) did not help to save the game for Weissenhorn Youngstars. British forward Myles Hesson (195-90, agency: Two Points) added 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hanau maintains second position in Group South with 5-1 record behind leader Dragons. Weissenhorn Youngstars at the other side keep the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Fraport SKY II. Hanau will play against Dresden (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Weissenhorn Youngstars will play against Bayer Giants (#9) in Leverkusen and hope to get back on the winning track.
