There was a minor upset when 4th placed Balikesir (3-2) was defeated at home by tenth ranked Akhisar Bld (3-2) 58-47 on Saturday. The game without a history. Akhisar Bld led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Balikesir to just 7 points in first quarter. American forward Tyrone Nelson (206-85, college: N.Mexico St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Darrius Morrow (203-90, college: E.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) chipped in 13 points and 15 rebounds. American power forward Pervis Pasco (206-81, college: Kansas St.) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Cem Coskun (209-87) scored 12 points. Balikesir's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the third consecutive win for Akhisar Bld. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 7 other teams including defeated Balikesir. Akhisar Bld will face league's leader Selcuk Universitesi in Konya in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Balikesir will play on the road against Usak and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
