Regular Season Round 6: Ternopil - Kirovograd 61-81

Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-4) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Kirovograd (3-3) 81-61 on Saturday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Kirovograd. Ternopil-TNEU managed to win third quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kirovograd dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Ternopil-TNEU's 32. Kirovograd had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was swingman Anton Rozhkov (198-88) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Center Mikhailo Nejzhmak (207-87) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kirovograd players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Sergyi Teleshko (209-92) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Vitaliy Zhornyak (179-93) added 12 points and 6 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kirovograd have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Ternopil-TNEU still closes the standings with four games lost. Kirovograd will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ternopil-TNEU will play again against Kirovograd (#3) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
