Regular Season Round 9: Meresta - Ezerunas-Karys 75-70

Everything went according to plan in Pakruojis where second ranked Meresta (7-3) beat 12th ranked Ezerunas-Karys (4-6) 75-70 on Saturday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Guard Tomas Gaidamavicius (191-82) stepped up with a triple-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners and center Deividas Keburys (202-90) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five Meresta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Raimundas Ambrulaitis (199-82) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Remigijus Sugintas (200-87) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Ezerunas-Karys' coach Mindaugas Kildisius tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Despite that victory Meresta went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Ezerunas-Karys dropped to the thirteenth place with six games lost. Meresta will face Dzukija (#7) in Alytus in the next round. Ezerunas-Karys will play against Zanavykas (#10).
