Regular Season Round 6: Bayer Giants - TSV Troester 88-71

Everything went according to plan in Leverkusen where tenth ranked Bayer Giants (2-4) beat bottom-ranked TSV Troester (0-6) 88-71 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bayer Giants. TSV Troester was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bayer Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to TSV Troester's 20 and made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. American point guard Adonte Parker (183-89, college: Dayton) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import Jack Eggleston (203-88, college: Pennsylvania, agency: Pro One Sports) chipped in 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Five Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. Bayer Giants' coach Achim Kuczmann used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was Johannes Richter (206-93) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and guard Alexander Engel (188-93) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. Bayer Giants moved-up to ninth place in Group South, which they share with Dresden. Loser TSV Troester still closes the standings with six games lost. Bayer Giants will face higher ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. TSV Troester will play against Noerdlingen (#5) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
