There was a minor upset when higher ranked Spartak Pleven (1-2) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Rilski Sportist (1-2) 84-80. Spartak Pleven was ahead by 5 points at the halftime before a 43-34 second half run of Rilski Sportist. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Spartak Pleven's 34. Rilski Sportist forced 20 Spartak Pleven turnovers.
