Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both tenth ranked ASC Theresianum Mainz and 7th ranked Hannover had identical 2-3 record. But Hannover was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Mainz 87-64 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 87-64. ASC Theresianum Mainz forced 21 Hannover turnovers. Czech center Gabriela Jandova (190-73) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Bulgarian guard Gergana Georgieva (180-87) chipped in 13 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Four ASC Theresianum Mainz players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Alexa Mennen (185-87, college: N.Iowa) with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and forward Anne Weber (171-89) scored 18 points and 6 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ASC Theresianum Mainz (3-3) moved-up to fifth place in North, which they share with Opladen and Bielefeld. Hannover lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. ASC Theresianum Mainz will face Dolphins Bielefeld (#6) at home in the next round. Hannover will play against the league's second-placed Berlin.
