We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked Finke Baskets (3-5) were crushed on the road by thirteenth ranked Crailsheim Merlins (3-5) 95-76 on Sunday. The game without a history. Crailsheim Merlins led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Crailsheim Merlins had a 35-23 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Derek Coleman (180-84, college: Robert Morris) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. The other American import swingman Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) chipped in 19 points and 6 assists. Five Crailsheim Merlins and four Finke Baskets players scored in double figures. Crailsheim Merlins moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Finke Baskets. Finke Baskets lost third consecutive game. Crailsheim Merlins will face higher ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (#7) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
