Regular Season Round 7: Koksokh-Stal - Pulsar 78-80 OT

Bottom-ranked Koksokh-Stal (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-78 overtime loss to seventh ranked BC-93 Pulsar (2-4) in Alchevsk. Koksokh-Stal was tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they could not keep up in overtime eventually losing that period 9-11. BC-93 Pulsar dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Koksokh-Stal's 34. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Ilya Shemosyuk (188-85) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Guard Maksym Ozhegov (190-90, agency: New Trend Agency) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Jan Selivanov (200-79) answered with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!) and swingman Boris Bereziuk (196-87) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Koksokh-Stal. Four Koksokh-Stal players scored in double figures. BC-93 Pulsar maintains seventh place with 2-4 record. Koksokh-Stal lost their sixth game in a row. They still closes the standings with six games lost. BC-93 Pulsar will play against higher ranked Avantazh-Politekhnik (#4) in Kharkov in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Koksokh-Stal will play at home against BK Kremen (#8) in Kremenchuk and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
