Regular Season Round 8: Vechta - Cuxhaven 98-78

The game in Vechta supposed to be also quite interesting. 6th ranked Cuxhaven BasCats (4-4) played at the court of eighth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (4-3). SC Rasta Vechta did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 98-78 on Sunday. SC Rasta Vechta outrebounded Cuxhaven BasCats 39-24 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for SC Rasta Vechta especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard Richard Williams (178-87, college: San Diego St.) who had a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 12 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). The former international center Dirk Madrich (211-83, agency: Court Side) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Four SC Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. American point guard Jeremiah Kelly (182, college: De Paul) produced 23 points and naturalized American swingman Jeremy Dunbar (195-88, college: Arkansas Tech) added 14 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. SC Rasta Vechta have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Heidelberg. Loser Cuxhaven BasCats dropped to the seventh position with four games lost. SC Rasta Vechta will face Kirchheim Knights (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cuxhaven BasCats will play against Crailsheim Merlins (#11).
