Regular Season Round 18: BC Donetsk - Cherkasy 77-85

We should mention about the upset which took place in Donetsk, where 7th ranked BC Donetsk (6-6) lost at home to tenth ranked Cherkasy (4-6) 77-85. It looked good early as BC Donetsk took an 3-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cherkasy had a 24-19 second period charge getting the lead and BC Donetsk was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-85. Cherkasy made 31-of-34 charity shots (91.2 percent) during the game, while BC Donetsk only scored eleven points from the stripe. BC Donetsk was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American forward Vincent Hunter (208-84, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 6 rebounds. Denis Ikovlev (201-86, college: Nevada, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Bulgarian forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian forward Ivan Radenovic (209-84, college: Arizona) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BC Donetsk. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cherkasy moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Mykolaiv. BC Donetsk lost third consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the seventh position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
