Regular Season Round 7: Ternopil - Kirovograd 78-83

Bottom-ranked Ternopil-TNEU (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 83-78 loss to sixth ranked Kirovograd (3-3) in Ternopil on Sunday evening. The guests trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-78. Kirovograd looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for guard Ivan Gusarov (190-87) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 5 assists. Center Roman Sokil (215-87, college: Georgia Perimeter) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side center Sergyi Teleshko (209-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds and guard Anton Nifonton (190-89) scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. The victory was the third consecutive win for Kirovograd. They moved-up to third place. Ternopil-TNEU lost their fourth game in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. Kirovograd will meet at home league's leader Musson in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ternopil-TNEU will play against Tornado (#6) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
