Regular Season Round 3: Botas - Ceyhan Bld 62-95

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Botas (2-1) against eighth ranked Ceyhan Bld (2-1) on Sunday night. Host Botas was crushed by Ceyhan Bld in Adana 95-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Botas. The game without a history. Ceyhan Bld led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game. Ceyhan Bld forced 24 Botas turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Croatian swingman Jelena Ivezic (182-84) who led the winners and scored 28 points and 4 steals (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American center Carolyn Swords (198-89, college: Boston Coll., agency: LBM Management) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) for the winning side. Four Ceyhan Bld players scored in double figures. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Gamze Takmaz (180-91) added 8 points respectively for Botas in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ceyhan Bld moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Botas. Ceyhan Bld will play against Canik Bld (#9) in Samsun in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Botas will play on the road against Samsun (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
