Regular Season Round 6: Goettingen - Berlin 67-64

There was a change at the 2.Bundesliga leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Berlin (5-1). They were edged by eleventh ranked Goettingen (2-4) 67-64 on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Berlin. Goettingen made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (183-90) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Jenele Peterson (174, college: Whitman) chipped in 18 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Daniela Vogel (179-92) with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Janina Thurau (177-88) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Goettingen moved-up to eighth place in North, which they share with 3 other teams. Berlin at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Saarlouis. Berlin will play next round against Hannover trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Goettingen will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked SG BBZ Opladen in Leverkusen.
