The game in Utena supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Sirenos (5-1) played at the court of 8th ranked Utena (1-5). Sirenos smashed Utena 83-57. The game was mostly controlled by Sirenos. Utena was better in second period 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Utena 43-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. Forward Egle Taraseviciute (181-90) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international power forward Iveta Salkauske (195-82, college: Illinois, agency: Josep and Nicolas) supported her with 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Sirenos' coach Linas Salkus felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists by the former international guard Egle Zygelyte (166-84) did not help to save the game for Utena. point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) added 10 points. Sirenos have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 5-1 record behind leader Kibirkstis-Tiche. Utena lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with five games lost. Sirenos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Kaunas Aistes-LSU.
