Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ferro-ZNTU (9-3) against sixth ranked Hoverla (7-5) on Friday night. Visiting Ferro-ZNTU was defeated by Hoverla in Frankivsk 100-85. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ferro-ZNTU. The game was mostly controlled by Hoverla. Ferro-ZNTU was better in second period 29-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hoverla shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for guard Eugene Lawrence (184-86, college: St.John's, agency: Two Points) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 8 assists. Kyndall Dykes (190-87, college: New Orleans, agency: Edge Sports) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Dykes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Hoverla players scored in double figures. At the losing side R.T. Guinn (208-81, college: Baylor) responded with 22 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Cameron Moore (208-90, college: UAB) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Hoverla maintains sixth place with 7-5 record. Ferro-ZNTU at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Budivelnyk and Khimik. Hoverla will play against Kryvbasbasket (#8) in Krivoy Rog in the next round. Ferro-ZNTU will play on the road against Halychyna (#4) in Lviv and hopes to get back on the winning track.
