Regular Season Round 19: Cherkasy - Budivelnyk 75-80

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Budivelnyk (9-3) beat on the road 10th ranked Cherkasy (4-7) 80-75 on Friday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Cherkasy won fourth quarter 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Budivelnyk made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. It was a very good performance for American forward Leo Lyons (206-87, college: Missouri, agency: Edge Sports) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Dante Swanson (178-81, college: Tulsa) answered with 19 points and 9 assists and the former international center Maxim Ivshyn (209-86, agency: Beo Basket) added 17 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Cherkasy. Four Cherkasy players scored in double figures. Budivelnyk have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Ferro-ZNTU and Khimik. Loser Cherkasy dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. Budivelnyk will face Mykolaiv (#9) in Mykolaiv in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
