Regular Season Round 7: Opladen - Goettingen 65-68

A very close game took place in Leverkusen between Goettingen and SG BBZ Opladen. Eighth ranked Goettingen (3-4) got a very close victory on the road over 6th ranked SG BBZ Opladen (3-4). Goettingen managed to escape with a 3-point win 68-65 in the fight for the sixth place. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SG BBZ Opladen. American swingman Jenele Peterson (174, college: Whitman) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Polish forward Klaudia Grudzien (183-90) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. The former international swingman Susanne Biemer (175-78) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Marie Gulich (192-94) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Goettingen moved-up to sixth place in North, which they share with Opladen and Bielefeld. Goettingen will meet at home Rhein MB II (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. SG BBZ Opladen will play against Hannover (#9) and hope to secure a win.
