Regular Season Round 4: Samsun - Botas 62-67

Another exciting game was between fifth ranked Botas and 7th ranked Samsun where Botas (3-1) beat Samsun (2-2) on the road 67-62. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Botas outrebounded Samsun 44-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 29 rebounds. Forward Ayse Dilek Akinci (175-82) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Botas players scored in double figures. Botas' coach Olcay Orak allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American swingman Megan Frazee (191-87, college: Liberty) replied with 25 points and Croatian guard Andja Jelavic (172-80) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Samsun. Botas moved-up to third place, which they share with Ceyhan Bld and Galatasaray. Samsun at the other side dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Botas will play against league's second-placed Kayseri at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Samsun's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Samsun to the arena Canik Bld.
