We should mention about the upset which took place in , where higher ranked Gelisim (3-3) lost to sixteenth ranked Yesilgiresun (2-4) in a road game 64-82 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gelisim. The game was mostly controlled by Yesilgiresun. Gelisim was better in second period 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Yesilgiresun looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gelisim's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Alex Gordon (184-85, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 34 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). point guard Gokper Gen (189-89) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. Yesilgiresun's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Michael Porrini (187-89, college: Kent St.) who recorded 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) added 15 points respectively. Yesilgiresun moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Gelisim keeps the eighth position with three games lost. Yesilgiresun will face higher ranked Istanbul B.B. (#11) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
