Regular Season Round 4: Illiabum - Terceira 87-64

Bottom-ranked Terceira (0-4) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-64 loss to seventh ranked Illiabum (2-2) in Ilhavo on Saturday evening. Illiabum outrebounded Terceira 41-20 including a 26-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 55.6 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of international Miguel Queiroz (202-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and naturalized Guinea-Bissau guard Henrique Sico (192-92) who added 19 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Illiabum players scored in double figures. Illiabum's coach Alexandre Pires felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American center Chano Rashiduddin (208, college: Clark Atlanta) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and forward Thiago Tomassi (193) scored 14 points. Illiabum moved-up to sixth place. Loser Terceira still closes the standings with four games lost. Illiabum will meet at home higher ranked Sangalhos (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Terceira will play against Angrabasket (#8) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
