Regular Season Round 4: Ginasio - Electrico FC 71-90

Bottom-ranked Ginasio (0-3) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 90-71 loss to fifth ranked Electrico FC (3-1) in Figueira da Foz. The game without a history. Electrico FC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 21-of-26 charity shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Electrico FC outrebounded Ginasio 31-20 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Electrico FC especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. Ginasio was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Tiago Pinto (183-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Cape Verdean swingman Mario Neves (190-77) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Electrico FC players scored in double figures. Naturalized Cape Verdean forward Joaquim Soares (198-83) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alexandre Nuno (187) added 19 points in the effort for Ginasio. Ginasio's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Electrico FC moved-up to third place, which they share with Sangalhos. Ginasio at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Benfica B. Electrico FC will play against league's leader Maia Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Ginasio will play against Benfica B (#9) in Lisboa and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
