Regular Season Round 6: Baskent Genclik - Maliye Milli 65-72

Bottom-ranked Baskent Genclik (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 72-65 loss to sixth ranked Maliye Milli (4-2) in Ankara. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-13. But Baskent Genclik won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for power forward Orbay Kaya (205-82) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Zach Graham (198-89, college: Mississippi) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Maliye Milli's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international forward Onur Aydin (203-79, agency: 1x1 Sports) replied with 6 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Ahmet Murat Yolcu (184-78) added 12 points in the effort for Baskent Genclik. Maliye Milli moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Baskent Genclik at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Izmir BSB. Maliye Milli's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ankara Pi Koleji.
