Very significant was Mersin Univ.'s (#5) 69-62 road victory against 6th ranked Anadolu Univ. in Group B. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Anadolu Univ. won third quarter 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Mersin Univ. won last quarter 16-10. The winners were led by the former international forward Ilkay Masa (186-84) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 23 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and Gizem Kumandanoglu (-94) supported her with 11 points and 4 assists. Four Mersin Univ. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 20 points and 10 rebounds by forward Ceyda Isbirakmaz (-80) did not help to save the game for Anadolu Univ.. Canan Karsavran (-92) added 15 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Mersin Univ. (2-2) moved-up to fourth place in Group B, which they share with Asistanbul. Anadolu Univ. lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Izmir BSB. Mersin Univ. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Anadolu Univ. will play on the road against Izmir BSB (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
