Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Erdemir (1-4) was rolled over at home by leader Galatasaray (5-0) 85-62. The game was mostly controlled by Galatasaray. Erdemir was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Erdemir's 30. Galatasaray had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. American guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized American power forward Ersin Dagli (203-81, college: Alabama, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. American swingman Sean Marshall (198-85, college: Boston Coll.) answered with 21 points and the other American import guard Gerrod Henderson (192-78, college: Louisiana Tech) added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Erdemir. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Galatasaray have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Erdemir lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the thirteenth place with four games lost. Galatasaray's next round opponent will be TED Kolejliler (#7) in Ankara which should be theoretically another easy game. Erdemir will play on the road against Antalya (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
